Privacy Policy
Last updated: 9 June 2026
We respect your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and your rights under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
1. Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is The Right Words, contactable at celimonryan@gmail.com.
2. What we collect
- Your email address, so we can send you your finished speech and service emails.
- The answers you enter about yourself, the groom, the couple and your stories, so we can generate your speech.
- Your generated speech and edits, so you can return to and edit it.
- Payment information. Payments are handled by Stripe. We receive confirmation of payment and limited details (such as the last four digits of your card), but we do not store your full card number.
- Technical and usage data, such as device, browser, and pages visited, collected via cookies and similar technology (see our Cookie Notice).
3. Why we use it (and our legal basis)
- To provide the Service and deliver your speech — performance of a contract.
- To take payment and prevent fraud — contract and legitimate interests.
- To respond to support requests — legitimate interests.
- To send marketing emails, only if you opt in — consent (you can withdraw any time).
- To improve the Service and keep it secure — legitimate interests.
4. AI processing
Your answers are sent to our AI provider to generate your speech. We use providers that process this data to deliver the result to us. We do not use your personal stories to publicly train models, and you should avoid entering sensitive personal information you would not want processed.
5. Who we share data with
We share data only with service providers who help us run the Service, such as our hosting provider, AI provider, payment processor, and email provider. They act on our instructions. We do not sell your personal data.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your speech and answers for 12 months so you can return to them, after which they may be deleted. We keep records of purchases for as long as required for tax and accounting (usually 6 years). You can ask us to delete your data sooner (see your rights).
7. International transfers
Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as UK-approved standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions).
8. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can: access your data; correct it; have it deleted; restrict or object to processing; receive a copy in a portable format; and withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email celimonryan@gmail.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, but no online service can be guaranteed 100% secure.
10. Children
The Service is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. The "last updated" date shows the current version.
